Our Story
Nomadic Roots Sauna & Wellness was an idea born during a morning plunge in Turkey Creek in our hometown of Red Cliff, CO. As we walked to our not-so-secret spot up Shrine Pass, we reminisced on our favorite memories of living in Vail -- the incredible mornings snowboarding the Legendary Back Bowls, evening uphills at Ski Cooper, cross country skiing at Tennessee Pass... The only thing that could have made those memories better was a good way to warm up while reminiscing with friends and supporting our recovery so we could get back at it the next day. We figured we couldn't be the only ones who felt that way. So, we created Nomadic Roots Sauna & Wellness to bring relaxation, recovery, and connection to the people who love winter activities as much as we do, and who want to get outside every day and be at their best.

Bärchen

Bärchen (German for "little bear") is a fully custom mobile sauna designed & crafted by Voyageur/Foundry Saunas. The interior is fully insulated and built with clear Western Red Cedar, meaning smooth benches and that warm sauna smell we love.
Featuring a warming room with storage and electricity, plus a larger capacity stove and larger benches, this sauna is perfect for larger events or groups looking to maximize löyly and enjoy the views.

Capacity: 6-8 adults
Heat up time: 60-90 minutes to 180°F
Our original sauna, Schatzi (German for "little treasure") was handcrafted in British Columbia by Nootka Saunas. The sustainably sourced Western Red Cedar is selected especially for its weather resistance, durability, and beauty.
Schatzi is perfect for private rentals at home or small events, especially if you are looking for the traditional barrel sauna aesthetic.
